Bishop Hendricken High School is located on 34 acres of land in Warwick, RI. What started out as a 22-classroom building has now flourished into a premiere college preparatory school designed to enhance the lives of young men for generations to come.

In the late 1990s, the school was blessed with the following additions: a 16,000 square foot South Gymnasium (now called Pepin Gym); a 5,000 square foot outdoor street hockey/basketball area; a redesigned West Gate on Oakland Beach Avenue; a 6,000 square foot West Wing of classrooms; and a web site to keep the school up-to-date with the technology of the times.

The generosity of donors during the Vision For The Future Campaign: Building Upon A Faith-Filled Tradition in 2003 provided Bishop Hendricken High School with the funds to build a 350-seat theater, twelve new classrooms, science laboratory, new band and choral facilities and renovations to the cafeteria.

Computers and related equipment are updated regularly in order to stay abreast with technology. BHHS was the first school in RI to install a wireless network; two 42” plasma televisions for electronic signage are currently located in the foyer of the school; and SMART Board interactive white boards are located in 18 classrooms.

Two major athletic improvements were made in the 2007-08 school year—we resurfaced the outdoor track and remodeled McNally Gymnasium.

In addition to the school chapel, we have the Walter F. and Jeanne A. Harrington Prayer Garden. This sacred space’s focal point is a 12-foot crucifix with a corpus of Jesus Christ. Adjacent to the cross is a perpetual lamp and statue of the Virgin Mary. The area also has an altar and bench-seating. Among the lush landscaping, one finds markers that memorialize those members of the Bishop Hendricken community who have gone before us. The prayer garden is just one component that supports the school’s mission: to strengthen the relationship of all members of the community with our God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We are proud of our school and our rich history. We invite you to tour our campus and see what makes Hendricken so special. You are always welcome!
