The Bishop Hendricken High School Drama Program is an exceptional theater arts community for young actors, directors, playwrights, designers and technical students. Students of all abilities and interests can join together to take part in an exciting and enriching program. Young ladies from Catholic, public, and private schools join the men of Hendricken each season to produce high quality theater productions. Each season our program features a fall play, winter student play festival, and spring musical. The Drama Program is in residence in the beautiful air-conditioned 350-seat Dr. Daniel Harrop Theater. The theater boasts a full cat-walk grid, state of the art light and sound system and a thrust stage that brings all the drama right out to the audience. We provide our students with challenging opportunities and hands-on technical experiences that many college theater programs cannot offer. The Drama Program offers students a safe, educational, and rewarding community.
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS BY THE BHHS DRAMA PROGRAM INCLUDE: Presenting the New England High School premiere of Broadway's ALL SHOOK UP, showcasing the World Premiere of Shay Healy's Irish musical THE WIREMEN, and presenting the 2009 New Artist Play Festival Off Broadway at the Helen Mills Theater.
