Band

The Bishop Hendricken High School Music Program offers an exceptional Band program for young musicians along with an exhilarating Music Theory curriculum for both musicians and non-musicians. Young instrumentalist perform, compete and enjoy playing music within the variety of outstanding bands offered throughout the year. Our award winning competitive “Hawks” Marching Band performs half-time field shows at varsity football games, attends competitions during the fall and marches in various parades like the St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City. The Hendricken Band program also invites young lady instrumentalist and dancers from St. Mary Academy Bay View to perform and compete with the Marching and Concert Bands. The Lady Hawks Dance Team brings a vibrant professional visual aspect to the field shows and parades. Our Concert and Jazz Bands perform two formal concerts a year; an outstanding Christmas concert and an end of the year and a Spring Pops Concert Spectacular featuring a farewell ceremony for the seniors. There are various competitions and festivals that the Jazz Bands and the Concert Band attend such as the Berklee College Jazz Festival and the RIMEA Band festivals. Our Senior Jazz Band has performed at many various outside fundraisers like the Rhode Island Heart Ball, the Governors Ball and the Jonah Community Center Fund Raiser. Our Band Program has a tradition of excellence. The band has had the honor of performing in President Carter's inaugural parade, Marching in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, and performing at the Lincoln Center.
 
 

Chorus

The Vocal Program at Bishop Hendricken High School provides student with exceptional opportunities to develop talent and vocal ability. The Young Men's Chorus is comprised of 45-55 student vocalist who join together for concerts, tours, and liturgies.
