“Hawkstock” Rocking for Haiti

Bishop Hendricken seniors Dan Holmes and Robert Pezzillo will be putting on a music festival to raise money for the people of Haiti. “Hawkstock,” as they are calling it, will take place on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 7 PM at Bishop Hendricken High School in the Daniel S. Harrop Theater. Admission to the event will be $5 with all money going to a Haitian relief fund. The event will cap off Catholic Schools Week at Bishop Hendricken, aimed to raise money to help those in Haiti affected by the earthquake. Dan Holmes of West Warwick will serve as the coordinator, while Robert Pezzillo of Cranston will be the event’s music director.
“I’ve always wanted to put on a benefit concert and when the earthquake shook Haiti, I couldn’t think of a better time,” Holmes says.
Student bands and faculty musical acts will take the stage for a night of good music and for a great cause. Some of the bands confirmed for the night are: Paperclips, Gaston, Dan Holmes and the Royal Philharmonic Kazoo Orchestra, an a capella performance and many more. Come join the Hawks as they rock for Haiti and do their part in the relief effort.
