Students Invest in Stock Market and Critical Thinking

Wednesday, December 24, 2008 — The Rhode Island Stock Market Game™ program announced that one of Bishop Hendricken’s teams took First Place.

The Rhode Island Stock Market Game™ program announced that one of Bishop Hendricken’s teams took First Place in the High School division of the Fall session. Michael Ambrosino ’10, Forrest Berrey ’10, Mitchell Clough ’12 and Andrew Euell ’09 created the best-performing portfolio.

The Stock Market Game allows students to make simulated trades online, where their accounts show their balance and how much they've gained or--more likely these days--lost. The students invested a hypothetical $100,000 in an on-line portfolio. They are learning economic and financial concepts they'll use for the rest of their lives.

The team is invited to attend The Stock Market Game Program Awards Ceremony held in late May/early June. The ceremony will recognize the top teams of both the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 Stock Market Game programs.

Congratulations to Michael, Forrest, Mitchell and Andrew on a job well done!
