College Counseling

College planning is an integral part of every Bishop Hendricken student’s four-year experience. Bishop Hendricken’s college counseling has become a national model. The proof is clear when you walk into McNally and Pepin Gymnasiums each fall to find 125+ college admissions representatives talking exclusively with Hendricken students at the largest private college fair in Rhode Island. Throughout the year, School Counseling will host another 85+ admissions representatives to conduct small-group meetings with seniors.

School counselors advise students on the college application process early and often in their Hendricken careers. The planning process becomes more formal at the beginning of the junior year, when school counselors begin meeting with students and their parents to discuss post-secondary academic interests, potential college matches, and personal goals. School counselors also work with seniors throughout the entirety of their college applications, including letters of recommendation, essay review, individual application requirements, and more.

College Placement

Our academic goal is for students to move on to colleges and universities that are competitive, cutting-edge, and most importantly, the best fit for them. To date, we have seen students off to Ivy League schools, highly-rated STEM programs, top-notch business colleges, the nation’s best schools for the arts, and more.
