Bishop Hendricken is proud to offer a comprehensive program in business, including courses in finance, accounting, and management principles.

As a college preparatory school, Bishop Hendricken is proud to offer students academic experiences that are akin to what they might receive in post-secondary education. Business courses allow students who might be interested in pursuing management, finance, accounting, marketing, economics, law, or entrepreneurship in college.

Business Course Offerings

EEP Accounting 1 (Honors)
This Early Enrollment Program (EEP) class is a concurrent enrollment program that offers college credit from Rhode Island College for highly motivated high school juniors and seniors who seek the rigorous challenge of a college-level experience while still in high school. The award of college credit is dependent on a student’s performance throughout the class and the grade earned, and is not dependent upon standardized testing. Grades earned will become part of an official Rhode Island College transcript and students may use the credits at RIC or transfer them to hundreds of public and private institutions that accept concurrent/dual enrollment credit.

Business Law
This course provides students with the general knowledge of the law as it pertains to the local and global economy. This semester course is offered as an elective for all students in grades 9-12.

Cisco Business Entrepreneurship
This instructor-led and online self-paced class allows students to take a single idea and turn it into a successful business. This is a step-by-step learning process for students in grades 9-12.

Economics
This course is designed to introduce students to the principles of economics and applying the fundamentals using graphs, charts, analyzing data, and explaining concepts.

Personal Finance
Students learn money management skills, calculate income, taxes, and establishing credit.

Principles of Business (Business Management)
This course will explore the functions of modern business management, such as business law, economics, financial analysis, human resources, information management, marketing operations, and strategic management. Emphasis will be placed on developing strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and critical thinking, and problem solving. Students will be encouraged to participate and compete in Distributive Executive Clubs of America events.

Senior Experience Internship
The Senior Experience program at Bishop Hendricken is designed for all seniors to have an opportunity to be exposed to various career paths of professions.
