The Companions of Blessed Edmund Rice are lay men and women who form a special relationship with the Congregation of Christian Brothers and Blessed Edmund Rice.
Aware of God’s presence in their lives, moved by the Holy Spirit by virtue of their baptism, sustained by the Living Christ in the Eucharist, and acknowledging Jesus’ Gospel appeal, the Companions of Edmund Rice, in union with the Christian Brothers, are inspired by the charism, spirit and legacy of Blessed Edmund Rice. They strive to grow in their relationship with Jesus by living the Gospel message and a life devoted to prayer, justice, and charitable and educational works, especially with the poor and marginalized.
You may submit a prayer intention at any time by dropping it in the prayer box which is located in the main foyer of the school.
Monthly prayer services are held in the BHHS chapel to pray for the intentions of the entire Bishop Hendricken community. All are welcome to attend: from teachers to students, parents to friends, everyone may join us each month for communal prayer.
The Companions of Blessed Edmund Rice meet on the first Friday of every month from September until May for prayer in the chapel at 2:45 pm. A collation will follow for all faculty and staff in the dining room.
