Admissions Committee & Parent Ambassadors
Co-Chairs: Cherilynn Lombardi & Mary Margaret Antonelli
The Admissions Committee/Parent Ambassadors work directly with the Admissions Office and plays a vital role in helping communicate the wonderful aspects of Bishop Hendricken to greater Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts families. Some of the activities include assisting with Open houses or Information Nights, and presenting to local schools or parishes about the Hendricken experience. The Parent Ambassadors serve as a resource for incoming Freshman families and reach out to newly admitted students and their families to help their transition to BHHS. Responsibilities include making congratulatory phone calls, hosting information sessions or receptions at their homes and assisting with visit days, science days and Open Houses. Parent Ambassadors also act as host or “buddy” families to incoming freshmen during their first year, and serve as an important resource for the overall new student experience, as they are oftentimes some of the first individuals the students and families meet.
Chair: Debi Jacques
The Arts Council Committee serves the current Hendricken families and students by providing volunteer support and communication for the advancement of the Arts. The committee achieves this by coordinating information and services with the staff of the Drama, Media Arts, Music and Visual Arts programs. The Chairs of the Arts Council Committee work with the Director of Arts as advisors and advocates for the Arts at Bishop Hendricken.
Chair: Justin Mitchell
The Athletic Committee acts as a liaison between the Athletic Director and the parents of athletes. The Athletic Committee helps and advises the school in policy and athletic procedures and acts as advisors and advocates for the athletic programs at Bishop Hendricken High School. They are also involved in running the Hungry Hawk.
Calendar Drive Committee
Co-Chairs: Debi Jaques, Mary Margaret Antonelli, Claire Dolan, Susan Flaherty, Holly Ialongo, Dianne Moran, Sigrid Pearson, and Lisa Silvestri
The Bishop Hendricken Calendar Drive is the only direct-sale fundraiser the school asks all students and families to participate in. This is a lottery calendar that offers the possibility of winning $50 daily, $100 monthly and $1000 quarterly (a total of $24,000 in prizes!) to those who purchase a calendar. The success of the calendar drive relies heavily upon participation of parent volunteers to take in proceeds, monitor student sales, distribute prize incentives and enter data into a simple computer program. The community support over the years has been phenomenal and the calendar drive remains the single largest contributor of funds to support school activities.
Community Appreciation Committee

The Community Appreciation Committee coordinates a week in the Spring to show appreciation to the dedicated administrators, teachers, and support staff involved in the Bishop Hendricken High School community. This committee solicits volunteers to cook, bake and serve during this very special week.

The Hospitality Committee is responsible for ordering refreshments and paper goods for the Open Houses, Honors presentations, and the Culture Fair. This committee organizes, serves, and sets up before/cleans up after each event.
