As the first competitive high school team in the state, Hendricken Rugby has a rich tradition of success in New England.
Rugby is a popular Spring club sport which annually attracts more than fifty participants. The team travels to tournaments around New England on Spring weekends, and plays a regular schedule of home and away games with high school teams from Massachusetts and New England.
In 2010, The Hawks won the New England Rugby Championship. Since then, Hendricken has earned three Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization (MYRO) Championships in 2011, 2014 and 2017. In their most recent MYRO Championship, the Hawks defeated the highly-touted Essex County Bulldogs by a score of 43-8 at Foley Stadium in Worcester.
In 2013, the team traveled to the United Kingdom to play in the sport’s place of origin. In 2016, the program traveled to South Africa for play. In 2018, the team traveled to Wales.
