Christian Service

st. joseph the worker

The Mission of Bishop Hendricken High School and our Catholic faith call us to provide service to those in need. We strive to attain this goal by following the example set by Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, and by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

To this end, all students are required to complete a minimum of twenty-five (25) hours of Christian service each school year.

Students may choose to volunteer at any non-profit institution, such as food banks, churches, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, etc. A complete list of rules and guidelines can be found here.

Christian Service Hours Reporting

All hours must be uploaded to x2Vol. Please check the x2Vol website at the link below, or app to view how many service hours you have completed.

School Events

Bishop Hendricken High School also conducts “school sponsored” events to assist our fellow brothers and sisters, including:

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive
  • Christmas Toy Drive
  • Weekly collections of monies for Christian Brother mission sites
  • Annual Hunger Walk on Holy Thursday
  • National & International Mission trips
  • Local Edmund Rice Service Nights
