Visiting Hendricken

DSC_0052(2)

Open Houses

The Open House provides prospective students and their families with the best opportunity to tour the school, speak with faculty and administrators, coaches, club moderators, current parents and students.  The Open House includes individual classroom presentations and a showcase of our arts programs and musical performances.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will be hosting a Virtual Open House on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 1pm.  Please pre-register to get the link for this Open House.

Shadow for a Day, Hawk for Life

The shadow program provides prospective students with the opportunity to shadow a current ninth grade student for the day. You will follow a typical freshman schedule, eat lunch in the cafeteria, and speak with current students and faculty. This program has been designed to provide prospective students with the opportunity to experience Hendricken up-close and personal.

Students are not required to submit an application prior to scheduling a shadow visit, but reservations are required. Please note that dates are limited in the fall prior to the entrance exam, but shadow visits are available throughout the academic year.  Your son should arrive in the Admissions Office at 8:20am and the visit concludes at 1:45pm. Students must be appropriately dressed: a collared shirt, tie, and dress slacks are required.  Lunch is included and each student will be given a lunch voucher for the cafeteria upon check-in.

Transfer Students

Bishop Hendricken admits a small number of transfer students for the 10th and 11th grade each year.  Prospective transfer students may also schedule a shadow visit at any time.

Transfer candidates and their parents are invited to schedule a personal interview with the Director of Admissions and Principal as part of the admissions process.  Transfer students may apply for September as well as mid-year enrollment in January.

Campus Tours

Private tours are available most days by appointment only.  Since we cannot offer an in person open house for fall 2020, you may request a private tour with Mrs. Solomon, Director of Admissions, by calling 401.889.5422. We welcome visitors during the day if you wish to see the school in action, but late afternoon and evening appointments are also available.

Summer Visits

The Admissions Office is open from 9am-1pm during the summer months, and individual appointments for admissions counseling as well as tours are available.
