The Open House provides prospective students and their families with the best opportunity to tour the school, speak with faculty and administrators, coaches, club moderators, current parents and students. The Open House includes a financial aid seminar as well as individual classroom presentations and a showcase of our arts programs and musical performances. There are typically three open house dates per year – in October, November and March.
Hawk for a Day
The “Hawk for a Day” Program provides prospective students with the opportunity to shadow a current ninth grade student for the day. You will follow a typical freshman schedule, eat lunch in the cafeteria, and speak with current students and faculty. This program has been designed to provide prospective students with the opportunity to experience Hendricken up-close and personal.
Students are not required to submit an application prior to scheduling a shadow visit, but reservations are required. Please note that dates are limited in the fall prior to the entrance exam, but shadow visits are available throughout the academic year. Your son should arrive in the Admissions Office at 8:20am and the visit concludes at 1:45pm. Students must be appropriately dressed: a collared shirt, tie, and dress slacks are required. Lunch is included and each student will be given a lunch voucher for the cafeteria upon check-in.
Bishop Hendricken admits a small number of transfer students for the 10th and 11th grade each year. Prospective transfer students may also schedule a shadow visit at any time.
Transfer candidates and their parents are invited to schedule a personal interview with the Director of Admissions and Principal as part of the admissions process. Transfer students may apply for September as well as mid-year enrollment in January.
Tours are provided at all open house dates with a member of our student ambassador program. However, personal tours may be scheduled at anytime during the school year at your convenience.
The Admissions Office is open from 9am-1pm during the summer months, and individual appointments for admissions counseling as well as tours are available.
