The Hawks’ Writing Center is modeled after college writing centers in which students staff spaces in order to help their peers with any step of the writing process.
At Hendricken, the Writing Center is staffed by members of the National English Honors Society, juniors and seniors who have earned an A or A- in their respective English classes for two semesters in a row.
Students can get help in writing for any subject, and with any step of the writing process. The peer coaches have experienced many of our upper level classes and can tutor students in writing for each of those classes. The Writing Center is not strictly for students who are “struggling,” it is open to any students who want a deeper and more complete look at the writing process at any stage.
The Hawks’ Writing Center is open in Room 606 every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon. Students are welcome to come by with their writing on those days or for a homeroom session if they set up a time in advance, or register for an appointment.
